Fuji Whiskey was born out of a joint venture in 1972 between Kirin Brewery, Chivas brothers and Seagram and Sons - The distillery uses snowmelt water from the nearby Mount Fuji in their whisky. The rich fruitiness and subtle spiciness are the character of Fuji Single Grain, a symphony of three different styles of grain whiskies: Light grain Scotch whisky style; Medium grain Canadian whisky style; Heavy grain Bourbon whiskey style. The nose opens with fruity aromas of raspberry and orange marmalade, layered with the sweetness of pound cake, leading to a mellow palate of white grape, orange peel, and raspberry, and finishing slightly sweet with notes of oak and gentle spice.
