Matured in ex-bourbon barrels, Laphroaig 10YO Cask Strength is bottled at a natural distillery strength, and is non-chilled filtered. This intrinsic difference gives consumers the chance to discover a depth of genuine taste and texture normally associated with sampling a whisky at its source.

Sweet upfront then classically dry in the signature Laphroaig peat and smoky style, followed by a rich finish.

Aromas of freshly-polished oak, savoury meat, redcurrant jelly, heather, mixed herbs and lime fill the nose. The palate offers notes of vanilla, spicy oak, roast meats, pepper and hints of sweet honeysuckle that linger in the finish.

In 1909 Alexander Cowie used his most rare and special aged stock to create his own private release - a whisky he called Cowie's Blue Seal, a symbol representing the utmost quality. The barrels he chose were what he considered the best of the best-the select few among the brilliant Mortlach reserves - these were the stocks he deemed worthy of the 'Blue Seal'. Today, we've resurrected the symbol of the Blue Seal to mark our 20 year old release. This rich and beautiful single malt whisky is made from the barrels deemed to be of exceptional quality from the Mortlach reserves. A combination of Refill Casks with ex-Sherry casks allows the rich, robust spirit of the beast of Dufftown to come through, while growing in complexity and mellowing over 20 years to an elegant, balanced combination of pepper and cinnamon spice with smooth, mellow vanilla oak.

Spey River Bourbon Cask Finish has been matured in traditional American oak casks until it has achieved the perfect balance of flavours, only then the whisky is then transferred into first fill Bourbon casks to allow the secondary maturation which adds to its complex character and refined depth of flavour. On the nose rich malty aroma with hints of breakfast cereal and cooked fruits. On the palate crisp, fresh flavour with malty sweetness and delicate oak notes. Subtle spice and hints of toasted almonds. The finish is clean with a lingering sweetness.

First matured in traditional American oak casks until it has achieved the perfect balance of flavours, the whisky is then transferred into first used sherry casks to allow the secondary maturation, which adds to its complex character and refined depth of flavour. On the nose a rich malty aroma with subtle notes of dried fruits and cinnamon sticks. The sherry cask influence has introduced a sherbet spice and oaky character. The palate is rich and spicy with layers of sweet oak, raisins, apricots and fresh oak. Addition of a little water releases the characteristic flavours of sherry cask.

The theme of Diageo's 2021 Special Releases is Legends Untold, and the bottlings all feature references to stories (real and imagined) surrounding the distillery. Given Taliskers coastal home on the isle of Skye, it should come as no surprise to see a rather imposing sea monster upon its label. A straight and classic Talisker, this is a wonderfully clearsighted, powerfully fire breathing sea-monster of a malt, with a direct and bold nature.
